"The Mare In The Moon" is a single that was written in 2011, and was supposed to come out in mid-2013, after the release of the "mountaintops." EP.

This song was written in two different moments: "The Mare In The Moon" was re-worked from an early Mountaintops In Caves-era demo from 2009, while "Burleson, TX" was written shortly afterwards.

The lyrics were written in mid-2011 after a series of idealized events.
